Creating a Health Legacy for My Family

Today you’ll read the story of one of our team members, Aysha Bowling. When faced with significant health challenges, she and her husband decided to create a health legacy for their family.

Creating a Health Legacy for My Family

My journey to creating a health legacy started back in 2008. I was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease. I had to take lots of medication, and I hated how I felt. I began to search for ways to improve my health. I changed my diet and increased my exercise, and I have now been medication free for 6 years.

But my journey did not end there. When my husband and I had our two children, we began experiencing more health challenges in our family. The boys have struggled with food allergies, asthma, eczema, and my oldest has been diagnosed with autism.

Due to these struggles, we began to look for ways to detox our home. We believed that we needed to make changes not only in our own bodies but also in what we exposed our family to in terms of our household products.

My husband and I wanted to create a health legacy for our family – we did not want to just succumb to the challenges.

Thankfully, during my search, I ran into my friend Falinda Farley. I had taught in the dance school where her son trained, and we had worked in a direct sales business together previously. However, this time when we connected, she introduced me to a new way of shopping. All I had to do was to simply switch stores and detox my home. This was exactly what I had been looking for!

We’ve been shopping for these safer, healthier products since October 2015, and our kids are not nearly as sick as they were before. We have seen such improvement–such real results–and that has made such a difference in our health legacy journey.

At the time Falinda introduced us to this company, my husband and I were also looking for ways for me to earn some extra income. When my first son was born, I had transitioned from working in corporate recruiting to staying at home, and living on one income was getting tough.

I am really not into sales, and I didn’t want to try a party-plan or MLM type business. And I didn’t want to have to go back to corporate America.

When I saw that there was an opportunity to simply switch stores and begin referring people with this team, I knew this would fit perfectly. I had already seen real results with my family’s health improving, so it only made sense to share this with others.

Creating a Health Legacy for My FamilyBy partnering with the Life On Your Own Terms Team, my husband and I decided to start the Health Legacy Project as a way to share our health journey with others. We share tips (and challenges) on Instagram and in our private Facebook group. We are just a normal family that has found a great solution, and we want to share that with others who may be looking for answers.

Not only has my family’s health changed for the better, but I also have been able to grow and change personally by being part of this Life on Your Own Terms team. My strengths and weaknesses have been revealed, and I’ve chosen not to run away from challenges. I love being a part of a team that provides encouragement to continually grow and develop.

By making a simple decision to switch stores, I’m able to have a satisfying career, help contribute to our income, and leave a health legacy for my family.
