Today you’ll meet one of our team members, Tammy Guillory. She has been a part of the Life on Your Own Terms team since July of 2016. We are excited for you to hear her story of creating a vision beyond corporate life.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND HOW YOU WERE INTRODUCED TO LIFE ON YOUR OWN TERMS:
I was raised to believe that if you want to be successful in life, you would get a good education and a corporate job. And that’s what I did. I’ve been in a corporate job for as long as I can remember. What I’ve come to realize, though, is that it’s possible to dream bigger and create a vision beyond a corporate career.
Although I’m a hard worker and strive to be successful in all that I do, family is the most important thing to me. I absolutely love spending time with my husband, our five children, and our two grandchildren. We are a blended family, but we have a blast together.
To me, spending time with my family is of utmost importance.
When Beth contacted me about this business, I was convinced that I needed my corporate job in order to be successful and to reach my goals in life. I didn’t think it was possible to achieve my life goals without a corporate career.
Even though I must admit that I was a little skeptical at first, I am so glad I was open minded to weighing out my options. Successful people always keep their options open. Now, I am my own boss, making more money and working less hours than I did in my corporate position.
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN LIFE ON YOUR OWN TERMS?
When we talked, Beth asked me a question that really made me think. She asked, “Just how secure is your corporate job?”
As I thought about this, I realized that it really wasn’t as secure as I thought. I was loyal to a company that truly was not loyal to me. I gave Beth a call back, and began my journey of living life on my own terms.
I saw that this was God opening a door for me – it was an opportunity to fulfill a bigger vision than just having a corporate job. This journey has made me redefine what I thought “success” was. Success is much more than having a title and a corporate job.
The mission statement of this company, my passion, and my calling from God all lined up beautifully. I enjoy helping others, and now I’m truly able to do that every single day. I’m able to benefit others with their health needs, their finances, and their time freedom. In addition, I can see the potential for achieving some bigger dreams that I have for my family, while also enhancing others’ lives along the way.
In just a few short months, not only have I been able to pay off debt and help pay for vacation with my income from this business, but I also see the possibility of helping my husband achieve his goal of retiring from the construction business and owning a classic car lot.
HOW IS THIS BUSINESS DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS?
I have been affiliated with many network marketing / MLM companies in the past. This company is NOT an MLM; it is Consumer Direct Marketing. Our company is a major manufacturer who sells direct to the consumer, so I do not sell products or recruit people. I simply introduce others to our online shopping club.
Our company specializes in green, natural everyday products, priced about 30% less than the grocery store brands. These are products that people already use anyway so it’s just replacement shopping – better products at a better price.
And we have a documented 96% monthly retention rate, so that means security for those who want to partner with me. It’s a simple business, so anyone can do this, part time or full time. To me, it just makes sense.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE CONSIDERING THIS OPTION?
So many people become complacent where they are and think they have to stay there. But having a bigger vision for your life is so important. You don’t have to settle – you can dream bigger, step out in faith, and try something different.
You can truly have a vision and life beyond a corporate career and live life on your own terms.
Tammy lives with her husband, teenage daughter, and twin teen boy and girl in Louisiana. She loves spending time with them, along with her 2 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren. Tammy looks forward to traveling the country and growing her business, while helping her husband find cars for his classic car lot he plans to own.
