Even as a young girl, I enjoyed helping others whether it was comforting a friend who had fallen off the playground slide or as simple as setting the table for our daily family dinner. In high school, it was important to me to volunteer at my local nursing home, assisting the residents with their activities of daily living.

By 1994, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Long Beach. Since then, I have had the privilege of working in so many different areas including: Oncology/Medical Unit, Home Health, Cardiac Rehab, and now outpatient and inpatient Radiology. I am also a single, dedicated mother of 3 teenage children, working full-time in a fast-paced unit. Radiology nursing is definitely physically and mentally challenging, but it is also extremely rewarding.

It wasn’t till about one year ago my life changed. I was diagnosed with Stage 1A lung cancer. At that point in my life, I knew I had to look for my Plan B especially if I could physically no longer work in the hospital. As one could imagine, I was feeling quite a bit of financial anxiety. How would I pay for my children’s college, my bills, spends more time with my family, etc?

It was truly a blessing when Taylor Schomp reached out to me. Since partnering with this company and the Life on Your Own Terms Team, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has definitely made a world of difference in my life thus far, especially since the support I have received from my team has been nothing but incredible. I am so grateful to be able to work toward reaching my goals and dreams of being debt free, healthier (cancer-free), the ability to spend more time with my family, helping others reach their goals , and doing what I love most: traveling.

Wow! Life has gone full circle. I can follow my passion of helping others, and in turn, I can afford to Live Life On My Own Terms!
